The Leap Years
I'm so glad Ger asked me to watch Leap Years....it's a really nice show! Well, maybe i'm a sucker for such love stories. Love stories with a twist and a fairytale ending! Not sure if it'll ever happen in reality but to those whom this has happened , good for them cos they end up with the one they love, albeit the tough route to their ultimate destination.

The story was about a girl whose birthday fell on 29th February. On her 24th birthday, she plucked up the courage to ask a guy she met at the cafe out in old-fashioned love letter style. And the guy agreed. (This part was really funny, he wrote "ok" using lipstick and stood in the middle of a crowded road to show her the answer)

As such, they met, but the meeting only lasted for 2 hours, after which the guy had to fly off. But they made a promise to each other to meet same time, same place, 4 years later.

And over the 4 years, she waited painfully, in hope to see him again. She'd already fallen in love with him, but he never knew. And she went to the same place, same time, to wait for him, but he wasn't there. Eventually, he appeared, late. And they had a good time together, only for the girl to find out that he is already married. (Heartbreak)

"You're everything that i've dreamed of, and everything that's wrong. At that time, it hurt me so bad that i thought i would die. But i didnt"

Plus the double heartbreak came when her best friend who has liked her for years decided to stop waiting for her, and left for the foreign lands.

Another 4 years passed, girl had already "given up" on him. But when she droved passed that same old place they met, she saw him. The guy wanted to explain to her what happened, but she wouldn't listen, and even lied to her that she was married with a kid. And they parted, girl crying, guy disappointed.

"Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous"

4 years later, another guy proposed to girl. She agreed to marry him, on February 29. However, she wasn't happy. By coincidence, there was a jam on their way to the wedding, and she saw him again when they drove past the place they met. The guy left a letter for her, telling her how he felt for her. Ultimately, she didnt marry the other guy, and went for the guy of her dreams instead.

And guess what, they lived happily ever after. (My shortened version of the ending :P)

Yes yes...call me a sucker or what. But i happen to love it and i don't care.

Love the story, love Li Lin's acting. The lead guy's really cute. But i cringe whenever Qi Yuwu is about to open his mouth and speak English. Lol.....

Watch it! It's a great movie...guys might think it's cheesy though. But i think many people can relate to it. Plus, i lurrrrrrrrrrrve the soundtrack. Corrinne May totally rox!

Makes me wonder...if i'll have my fairytale ending too. Life's full of mystery and surprises, you'll never know what you will get till you pluck up the courage and go down the path of the unknown. You won't know what will happen when you walk down, when you open that door, and peer into that other side.

I admire her courage, her strength. It definitely wasn't easy, when people around you are telling you that you shouldn't be waiting, shouldn't be doing this and that. Then again, "you don't need anyone's approval to love someone". So one should just be brave and don't be afraid to love.

Was browsing through my screenshot collections and found those just before what happened. It always hurts to find and read them again, kept me wondering what happened in between. Maybe...maybe it was just too perfect to be true.

"Three words can summarise all i have learnt about life. It goes on"

Yep. Life goes on. It hurt me so bad I thought i would die too, but i didn't.

"Scars make us stronger for life"

"A person usually meets his destiny when he takes the route to avoid it"

"If it's not too long, I'll wait here for you all my life" - Oscar Wilde

Guys and girls react very differently. When a guy leaves (like Qi Yuwu), he goes and never comes back. Or rather, he comes back with another girl. When a girl leaves (like Li Lin), she acts like she don't care, but is hurting like mad inside, hoping that the guy will someday, somehow, pull her back again.

Lol....
