Day 4 - Tsukiji Fish Market, Garden Walk Factory Outlet and Shibuya
Tsukiji day! It's an early morning and we are headed to Tsukiji Fish Market. Pity we couldn't wake up earlier to catch the very exciting tuna auctions...perhaps next time! Still, we managed to walk through most of the market and saw some interesting seafood and food!
Hairy Crabs!
Super alot of octopuses!
After touring the market, we decided to find a place to have some sushi. Heard that Daiwa sushi and Sushidai are the popular ones, though my colleague recommended me Sushi zanmai. We walked through and didn't manage to find zanmai...and so we settled for Daiwa!
Good thing we got there earlier than the rest of the crowd. Look at the queue!
The shopkeeper don't allow us to take photos =(. The sushi was FABULOOOOUSSSS. Ger and I were ooh-ing and aah-ing all the time as we tasted one sushi after another. The tuna belly, squid, unagi, tamago all tasted sooo heavenly. No fishy taste, very fresh, very tender, very very very delicious! The wasabi was amazing too. I don't like wasabi due to the unpleasant taste it leaves in my mouth...but this was in a league of its own. It was lethal, but the effect was fast and swift and it didn't leave a lingering taste. It was good! Loved this meal to bits...it was costly though...but worth EVERY cent. Will definitely visit again next time!
After the superb breakfast at Tsukiji, we headed to Chiba area's Garden Walk Factory Outlet for some shopping.
Look what we found again...crepes! Haha...i can't resist banana chocolate almond crepes >.< and i had to get one again. My 4th crepe so far in Japan...wahahahaha...
Japan has pretty flowers everywhere! And ger went a teeny wee bit mad taking photos of them...lol..
After Garden Walk, we decided to head to Shibuya for some more shopping. While transferring trains at the Tokyo station, we were suuuuuper distracted by all the interesting tokyo foodie goodies that had really pretty packaging and droolworthy snacks! And obviously i can't help but gravitate towards the tokyo banana...lolll..
And see what i found next, the chocolate version of the Tokyo banana! Had to get it too!
Weeeeeeee...me and my chocolate banana :P.
Here's the famed Shibuya 109! Love this place loads...it's like a Far East Plaza, but loads loads better!
At Shibuya 109, we found a counter filled with Hello Kitty stuffies. See what ger found...Hello Kitty boxer shorts >.<
The full shelf of Hello Kitty cutieeeeesss
Dinner time! We decided to have gyu done at Sukiya. I had the normal gyu don while ger had the set with salad, soup and drink. It was a cheap and yummy meal...definitely tasted much better than the yoshinoya back home!
That's all for the day, didn't buy much though...Japan is expensive! Lollll... |
